The Digital Business Summit was held last 7 July in Lisbon, organised by the Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications (APDC). BEREC Chair Fátima Barros (ANACOM) gave a speech covering latest developments regarding the digital single market, with particular emphasis on the recent agreement between the Council and the European Parliament (EP) on the single telecoms market, specifically vis-à-vis net neutrality and roaming. The BEREC Chair also mentioned a number of challenges facing regulators, highlighting the need to prevent the creation of regulatory loopholes while at the same time avoiding excess regulation.
The Digital Business Summit brought together various players in the digital ecosystem (operators, consumers and regulators) to debate aims and objectives as well as regulation’s role in Europe.
