On 14 September 2015, MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia begins universal service provision of a comprehensive telephone directory service and directory enquiries service, following a public tender and designation of the company by Resolução do Conselho de Ministros n.º 32-B/2015https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1356661 (Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. 32-B/2015), published on 22 May.
As such, MEO will continue to provide the directory enquiries service (118) and the printed telephone directory service, and will also take over provision of the telephone directory service in electronic format (available online at www.118net.pt http://www.118net.pt/).
Printed telephone directories will now only be provided to users who request them in advance. For this purpose, MEO will be conducting an information campaign on the radio and in the press, providing information on how to request printed directories and on the respective timings.
