In June of this year, paging operators had a total of 249,787 customers. According to figures collected by the ICP, this represents a fall of 1.6% compared with the previous quarter.
At the end of the second quarter, the number of Telechamada/Telecel subscribers stood at 137,634, a fall of 0.4% compared with the previous quarter. During the same period, there were 111,029 ''Telemensagem'' customers, an increase of 0.3%, compared with the first quarter of the year.
In the Azores, the number of subscribers to the paging service available through the Portugal Telecom network stood at 723, a fall of 1.6% compared with the previous quarter. In Madeira, the number of subscribers to the Portugal Telecom network stood at 401, a fall of 1.5% compared with last March.
