ANACOM takes part in ''ITU Telecom World 2015'' forum


ANACOM is represented at the ''ITU Telecom World 2015'' forum by Fátima Barros, Chair of ANACOM's Board of Directors and BEREC Chair 2015. The forum, organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), took place from 12 to 15 October 2015.

As BEREC Chair, Fátima Barros took part on different panels, including in the ''Leadership Summit''. The debate that took place at this summit was very lively, with discussion focused on topics such as global connectivity and Internet access as a human right, as well as on regulatory and spectrum policies which facilitate global access.

Fátima Barros was joined at the ''Leadership Summit'' by Houlin Zhao, Secretary-General of the ITU, by Nicholas Negroponte of MIT, Fadi Chehade, CEO of ICANN, Udo Helmbrecht, Executive Director of the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), and by Joy Tan, President of Global Media and Communications at Huawei Technologies.

Fátima Barros also took part in the ''Broader Way'' forum, organized by Huawei, taking the opportunity to present the work of BEREC - the body that brings together national regulators of the electronic communications sector in the European Union - BEREC's objectives and main challenges.

Representing ANACOM, Fátima Barros also took part in the "Ministerial Roundtable", which approved the "Budapest Action Lines," following up on the global digital agenda known as ''Connect 2020''.
