Amendment to rights of use of frequencies allocated in the 2100 MHz band for terrestrial electronic communications services

By final decision of 22 October 2015, ANACOM has approved an amendment to the rights of use of frequencies allocated in the 2100 MHz band for terrestrial electronic communications services.

Specifically, it was decided to amend the period of validity of the rights of use of frequencies assigned in the 2100 MHz band, as allocated to Vodafone Portugal and to MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia, taking effect only upon the final decision approving the addenda to the corresponding licence titles. Meanwhile, NOS Comunicações was granted 5 working days to request, if it sees fit, amendment to the period of validity of the right of use of frequencies awarded to the company, which will be set according to the date on which operation of the UMTS system commenced.

On the same date, approval was also given to the report on the prior hearing and consultation procedures launched following the draft decision of 18 June 2015https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1359653.
