In the scope of ongoing cooperation between BEREC and the sector regulator in the USA (the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)), the heads of both agencies met last 6 October in Washington. The BEREC delegation also included the heads of other national regulatory authorities (NRAs) (the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS), Autorità per le Garanzie nelle Comunicazioni (Agcom), Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) and Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM)). The meeting served to discuss the current situation of the American and European electronic communications markets, with special emphasis on issues such as net neutrality, spectrum policy and review of the European regulatory framework. Upcoming cooperation initiatives involving BEREC and the FCC were also considered.
