ECC WG FM PT22 meeting - Copenhagen

The Copenhagen headquarters of the European Communications Office (ECO) hosted last 6-9 October a meeting of project team 22 (PT22) of the Frequency Management working group (WG FM), concerning spectrum monitoring and control and enforcement. The gathering was attended by representatives from 20 countries, two organisations and one observer, for a total of 38 delegates.

Highlights of the agenda included consideration of the following matters:

1) continuity of work on producing a recommendation about measurement uncertainties;

2) recommendation on measurement of frequency modulated (FM) radiated power using field intensity measurements;

3) report on the evaluation of long term evolution (LTE) coverage.

The European questionnaire meant to gather statistics on the number of detected interference cases detected was also improved with a view to improving its results.

Work began on producing a specific questionnaire on use of digital enhanced cordless telecommunication (DECT) system equipment (DECT 6.0 of the American standard) in CEPT countries.

Portugal was assigned the coordination of work on revising Recommendation REC(05)01 on harmonisation of automatic measuring methods and data transfer for frequency band registration.

This group’s next meeting will be held in April 2016 in Budapest, at the invitation of the Hungarian administration.
