The 66th general assembly (GA) of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) was held last 17-18 November in Sophia-Antipolis, France.
The GA approved 46 new members: 30 full members, 14 associate members and 2 observers. Overall, with respect to the November 2014 GA, the total number of members and units of contribution grew respectively from 767 and 4002 to 784 and 4064.
The members of the Finance Committee were appointed and the GA took note of the report submitted by that committee. The GA also took note of the positive financial result for year 2015 and approved the 2016 budget, which maintains the values of the various units of contribution.
The GA approved extending the director-general’s term of office for three more years, as well as a number of amendments to the ETSI rules of procedure.
Regarding cooperation, the renewal of several memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements was approved.
The next GA has been scheduled for 19-20 April 2016 in Sophia-Antipolis.
