As part of the “ANACOM Alerts” initiative, launched with the aim of improving the information provided to consumers on specific sector issues, focusing especially on the issues raised in consumer complaints, the following article was published on 7 May (in Correio da Manhã) and on 8 May (in Jornal de Notícias):

Communication billing cycles

  • Communications must be billed on a monthly basis.
  • Operators are required to define deadlines for payment, which may not necessarily coincide with the beginning or end of the month.
  • The billing cycle may differ according to the tariff scheme you choose. A change of tariff scheme may lead to billing settlements.
  • In any event, the bill must be sent to you at least 10 days ahead of the respective deadline for payment.
