Analysis of the market of high-quality electronic communications at a fixed location - (access and trunk segments) - notification to the European Commission

By decision of 30 June 2016, ANACOM has approved the draft final decision for notification to the European Commission (EC), the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the national regulatory authorities (NRAs) of the other Member States of the European Union, on the definition of the markets of electronic high-quality communications at a fixed location, significant market power and the imposition, maintenance, amendment or withdrawal of regulatory obligations (market 4 of Recommendation 2014/710/EU and market 14 of the Recommendation 2003/311/EC).

Approval was also given to the report of the prior hearing and consultation to which the respective draft decision was submitted (draft decision https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1381324of 10 March 2016). In response to these procedures an opinion was received from Autoridade da Concorrência (Competition Authority) and contributions from Grupo APAX, AR Telecom, BICS Portugal, MEO, NOS SGPS (acting on its own behalf and on behalf of its subsidiaries NOS Comunicações, NOS Açores Comunicações and NOS Madeira Comunicações) and from Vodafone Portugal - Comunicações Pessoais.
