Regulation on pre-contractual and contractual information in the context of electronic communications and approval of the reports on the consultations conducted on the draft regulation and on common terminology used in pre-contractual and contractual

By decision of 14 July 2016, ANACOM has approved the "Regulation on pre-contractual and contractual information in the context of electronic communications" setting out a consolidated scheme specifying information to be provided to end-users by companies providing public communications networks or publicly available electronic communication services in the dissemination of their offerings and in the context of the contractual relationship.

Approval has also been given to the report of the public consultation which was conducted on the draft regulationhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1344333 (approved by ANACOM on 30 December 2014) and on the draft set of common terminology to be used in pre-contractual and contractual informationhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1348629 (approved on 26 February 2015).

In response to the consultation on the draft regulation, contributions were received within the allowed period from the following undertakings: APRITEL- Associação dos Operadores de Comunicações Eletrónicas (Association of Telecommunications Operators); Autoridade de Segurança Alimentar e Económica (Food and Economic Safety Authority); Cabovisão - Televisão por Cabo and ONITELECOM - Infocomunicações (Cabovisão and ONITELECOM); DGC - Direção-Geral do Consumidor (Directorate General for the Consumer); G9Telecom; Jaime Simões; Mário Rui Mota; MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia (MEO); NarrowNet; NOS Comunicações, NOS Açores Comunicações (then, ZON TV Cabo Açoreana) and NOS Madeira Comunicações; Vodafone Portugal - Comunicações Pessoais (Vodafone).

In response to the public consultation on the draft set of common terminology, contributions were received within the period granted from APRITEL, Cabovisão and ONITELECOM, DGC, MEO and Vodafone.

In response to both consultations, comments were received, albeit after the stipulated deadline, from DECO - Associação Portuguesa para a Defesa do Consumidor (Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection). Due to the untimely submission of the contributions received from DECO, no reference is made to them in these reports, although they are made available along with the others.
