By decision of 10 August 2016, ANACOM has approved the PEE - Plano estratégico nacional do espectro radioelétrico (National strategic plan for the radio spectrum), which essentially seeks to establish strategic guidelines for the provision of frequencies used by civil radio services/applications, satisfying spectrum requirements and the specifications of each service/application.
Approval was likewise given to the public consultation report to which the PEEhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1385957 was submitted (as approved on 12 May 2016); in response to this consultation timely contributions were received from: Associação Portuguesa de Radiodifusão (Portuguese Broadcasting Association); Associação Portuguesa para a Defesa do Consumidor (Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection); Echostar Mobile Limited; EMEA Satellite Operators Association; MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia; NOS Comunicações, NOS Açores and NOS Madeira; Thuraya; and Vodafone Portugal - Comunicações Pessoais.
