On 10 August 2016, ANACOM approved the PEE - Plano estratégico nacional do espectro radioelétrico (National strategic plan for the radio spectrum), which essentially seeks to establish strategic guidelines for the provision of frequencies used by civil radio services/applications, satisfying spectrum requirements and the specifications of each service/application.
Nevertheless, the fact that matters have been addressed in the PEE does not result in any immediate change to the National Table of Frequency Allocations; Instead, the intention is to examine key themes common to all radio spectrum bands, in order to explore a strategic approach to spectrum planning.
Approval was likewise given to the public consultation report to which the PEEhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1385957 (as approved on 12 May 2016) was submitted and which led to the introduction of a limited number of changes to the plan.
