Cooperation project involving laboratories

The Portuguese and Lithuanian administrations possess laboratories accredited per standard NP EN ISO/IEC 17025. One of that standard’s requisites is that accredited labs must take part in laboratory comparison programmes to enable verification of their technical competence.

In 2016 ANACOM invited its Lithuanian counterpart (RRT - Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania) to carry out bilateral comparison in the radio and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) areas. ANACOM’s testing and calibration laboratory hosted an RRT delegation at its Barcarena facility last 4-6 July, to participate in comparing spurious radiated emission tests in accordance with standard ETSI EN 300 220-1 v.2.4.1 in the area of radio and disruptive radiated electric field, and disruptive voltage for power supply terminals in accordance with harmonised standard EN55022 in the EMC area.

Besides confirming the technical competence of both laboratories in the area of radio and EMC testing, an enriching exchange of knowledge and experience in other areas was achieved, specifically on radio and other EMC testing and the laboratories’ quality management system.
