Regulation on provision of statistical information - public consultation

On 13 October 2016, ANACOM approved the draft Regulation on provision of statistical information and the launch of the corresponding public consultation.

This draft Regulation aims at adapting the information collected by ANACOM from companies that offer electronic communications services and networks, technological and market developments that have taken place, as well as improving the efficiency and quality of the information collection process according to the experience gained.

The aforementioned information, requested regularly by ANACOM, allows it to monitor the various markets and services and compliance with the obligations of providers, define important markets and assess significant market power, as well as comply with other terms of reference.

The definitions and concepts used have been revised in order to: increase the level of reliability and comparability of the information collected; promote increased efficiency in the entire information gathering process by unifying regular requests for information and the creation of a calendar for the collection of these indicators; reduce the volume of information requested in view of the developments that have occurred and alternative sources of information available.

Interested parties have a period of 30 working days to comment in writing and in Portuguese. Comments should therefore be submitted by 16 December, 2016, preferably by email to the email address dee.stats@anacom.ptmailto:dee.stats@anacom.pt1. Once the consultation process has been concluded, public disclosure of the contributions received will be carried out, so interested parties should also submit a version with information considered confidential redacted for publication on this site.
