Following initiatives implemented since 2013, ANACOM plans to conduct a number of inspection actions on CTT - Correios de Portugal (CTT) in the first quarter of 2017 to check the procedures adopted by the company to meet the obligations related to both postal distribution and the objectives of postal network density and minimum service supply.
To achieve this goal, ANACOM will start by inspecting the activity of several of CTT’s postal distribution centres (CDP) in various locations of mainland Portugal.
In addition to this aspect, ANACOM will also focus on hearing directly the representatives of the people covered by the CDP being inspected to collect the views of these entities on issues related to postal distribution.
In the same period ANACOM intends to carry out inspection activities on a number of post offices to assess queuing times. These actions will take place without prejudice to and at the same time as the annual monitoring, that is, by means of audits organised by ANACOM to measure queuing times throughout the year under and pursuant to the performance objectives of the universal postal service established by ANACOM (Article 13 of the Postal Law - Law 17/2012 of 26 Aprilhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1127982).
Finally, regarding checking the compliance with the objectives of postal network density and minimum service supply, ANACOM plans to undertake new activities throughout all of mainland Portugal.
