The expert working group on the review of the regulatory framework (Regulatory Framework EWG) held a meeting last 9 February in Brussels, chaired by Hungary (NMHH) and devoted solely to spectrum-related proposals.
The gathering was attended by about 30 delegates representing regulators from nearly 25 member states, among them Portugal (ANACOM).
Based on the work carried out at the previous meeting, which identified the topics to develop and respective drafters, each drafter presented their respective contribution and when appropriate also referred to the comments received from regulators just before the current meeting. The topics being developed and respective drafters are as follows:
1. Problem definition and objectives (PTS, ANACOM);
2. Spectrum management and institutional set-up (PTS - designated at this meeting);
3. Authorisation and small cells (COMREG, ARCEP, RTR);
4. Peer-review (BNetzA);
5. New roles of EC (OFCOM).
After this meeting the drafters were to prepare (one week) the revision of the respective chapters, bearing in mind the written comments received and those made at the meeting.
A proposed document on the subject should be completed by 21 March.
Another meeting will be scheduled if necessary (mid-March).
