3rd meeting CPG PTC meeting - April 2017

The third meeting of project team C (PTC) of CEPT’s Conference Preparatory Group (CPG) was held last 24-26 April in Geneva, chaired by Martin Weber of Germany and attended by 29 participants representing 15 national regulatory bodies, international organisations and industry.

PTC is responsible for debating and proposing to the CPG positions to defend at the 2019 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19) regarding items it is responsible for in the CEPT/CPG context (1.8, 1.9.1, 1.9.2, 1.10 and 9.1.4) and which deal with issues concerning maritime and aeronautical communications, specifically spectrum needs and regulatory provisions for introduction and use of the global aeronautical distress and safety system and regulatory questions for updating and modernising the global maritime distress and safety system.

The proposed working documents (briefs) on various items dealt with in the PTC scope (except for item 1.10) were updated during the meeting and merited approval within the project team ahead of their submission to the CPG for consideration/approval.

The next CPG PTC meeting will be held on 26-29 September 2017 in Trondheim, Norway.
