Needs of postal service consumers


Studies and reports.

ANACOM has promoted the study on "The Needs of Consumers of Postal Services", in partnership with IMR - Instituto de Marketing Research (Institute of Marketing Research).

The study identifies and assesses the needs of residential end-users in the postal sector in Portugal, in particular as regards possible shortcomings in the provision of postal services which are useful to consumers and identifying components of the postal service which consumers may no longer value.

The main objectives of the study were as following:

  • extensive conceptual and literature review;
  • analysis of the profile of residential consumer needs as regards services and the receptivity of consumers as to any alteration in the configuration of such services;
  • receptivity to changes in the configuration of postal services by entities, postal operators and express parcel service operators;
  • impact of the needs of the service’s consumers on regulation.
