New "257" code for Braga in the National Numbering Plan

By decision of 16 June 2017, ANACOM has determined the opening of a new "257" code in the PNN - Plano Nacional de Numeração (National Numbering Plan) for provision of the publicly available telephone service at a fixed location. The numbering resources of this code will be allocated in blocks of 10,000 numbers, whose corresponding rights of use must be allocated to providers of this service according to objective, transparent and non-discriminatory criteria, as soon as there are no further numbering blocks available with the "253" code. The conditions governing use of geographical numbers remain unchanged.

Approval was also given to the report of the prior hearing and the consultation to which the draft decision was submitted (draft decision approved on 17 March 2017https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1407520). In response to these procedures, timely contributions were received from MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia and from AR Telecom - Acessos e Redes de Telecomunicações.
