Consultation on the review of conditions governing provision of the electronic communications universal service

Following a request from the Government and by decision of 22 June 2017, ANACOM has approved the launch of a public consultation on the revision of conditions governing provision of the various components of the universal service of electronic communications. The request addressed to ANACOM also seeks preparation of a final report with a summary of the responses received and a document setting out recommendations to the Government with a view to the possible selection of the universal service provider(s).

The purpose of this consultation is to compile contributions from the market and from society in general to provide ANACOM with information which is necessary and relevant for a reflection on the terms and conditions that should be associated with provision of the universal service and with the need to carry out designation of the provider(s) for the various components of the universal service.

Interested parties can submit their comments within 20 working days of the date of this announcement, i.e., no later than 24 July 2017. Contributions should be sent by email, in writing and in Portuguese, to consulta-su@anacom.ptmailto:consulta-su@anacom.pt1.

The results of this consultation are in no way binding upon the Government or on ANACOM as regards the decisions which may be adopted on the matters addressed in this consultation.

Once the consultation process has been concluded, the contributions received will be made public. Therefore, for the purposes of publication on this website, interested parties should also submit a non-confidential version of their responses excluding items considered confidential.
