RED and EMC Workshops: what's changing in the radio and electronic communications equipment market?

ANACOM will hold two workshops (Porto - 12 October, Lisbon - 19 October, 2.00pm - 5.30pm) on the new legal regimes governing radio and electronic communications equipment and the placement and availability of such equipment on the market and its entry into service.

The equipment covered by these regimes includes wireless phones, mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, wireless microphones, portable computers, Bluetooth headphones, wireless doorbells, wireless mice and keyboards, drones, wireless speakers, remote controlled toys, corded phones, and powerline (with and without wi-fi).

Decree-Law no. 57/2017 of 9 Junehttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1416519 (transposing the Directive on the placing of radio equipment on the market - RED Directive) and Decree-Law no. 31/2017 of 22 Marchhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1410781 (transposing the Directive on the electromagnetic compatibility - EMC Directive) set out the new legal regimes and place additional responsibilities on the various economic operators, in particular on distributors, including those who provide equipment to the final consumer.

These two events are part of an information campaign which ANACOM is launching today, with the aim of informing the different economic operators about the new rules. The campaign also uses digital media and specialist print media.

Participation in the workshops is free and open to all interested parties, subject to prior registration (online registration form available on this website).
