ANACOM launches campaign on new rules of RED and EMC Directives

ANACOM is launching an information campaign today (28 September 2017) aimed at providing economic operators with information about the new legal regimes applicable to radio and electronic communications equipment, and to the placement and availability of this equipment on the market.

The aim of ANACOM’s campaign is to inform economic operators (manufacturers, agents, importers and distributors of equipment using the electromagnetic spectrum) about the changes introduced by Decree-Law no. 57/2017 of 9 Junehttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1416519, which transposes Directive 2014/53/EU of 16 Aprilhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1305232 (RED - Radio Equipment Directive), and by Decree-Law no. 31/2017 of 22 Marchhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1410781, which transposes Directive 2014/30/EU of 26 Februaryhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1419145 (EMC - Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive). The focus of the campaign is to warn all operators in the distribution chain handling such equipment that they can now be held equally responsible for compliance with prevailing rules.

The campaign will use digital and print media to convey its message. There will also be two information workshops, taking place on 12 October 2017 in Porto and on 19 October 2017 in Lisbon, under the theme "RED and EMC: what's changing in the radio and electronic communications equipment market?"
