Telephone directories may be ordered up to 29 November

Those interested in receiving printed telephone directories for 2018 may request them by 29 November from MEO - the universal service provider responsible. Telephone directories may be requested by calling 808 204 204 or on the Internet at www.118net.pt http://www.118net.pt/.

Telephone directories will only be delivered to users who expressly request them in advance. They will be provided free of charge where the directory is for the user's area of residence.

Anyone requiring additional directories, covering other regions, may also request them and may have to cover postage and shipping expenses to receive them at an indicated address. Users who prefer to collect them from one of MEO's outlets designated for this purpose, one in Lisbon and one in Porto, will not be charged, provided previous indication is given.

MEO won the public tender launched by the Portuguese government in 2015 to allocate the universal service for the provision of a comprehensive telephone directory enquiry service for a period of 3 years. Accordingly, MEO is required to make printed directories available on an annual basis covering all subscribers of telephone services (fixed and mobile), including customers of other operators (other than MEO), provided that these customers have authorised inclusion of their data. MEO must also make the telephone directory available in electronic form - at www.118net.pt http://www.118net.pt/ - and make the data contained in the directory available through a directory enquiries service (118), subject to a charge.
