NET.mede receives over 336 thousand visits in 2017


In 2017, NET.mede received a total of 336 594 visits from 203 100 users, recording an increase of 31% in the number of visits and 13.17% in the number of users compared to 2016.

The number of page views was 615 220, with 86.74% of all visits being made from Portugal, and the average length of each session being 3:23 minutes.

Around 324 000 simple speed tests and 14 000 traffic shaping tests were carried out during 2017 using this tool and. Following the improvements made available from 7 June, an increase in the average daily number of tests carried out, in the order of 152% and 88%, respectively, was observed.

NET.mede, a tool created by ANACOM in 2013, allows various (fixed and mobile) Internet service quality parameters to be tested from a computer, smart phone or tablet, in particular, the measurement of the download and upload speeds of an Internet connection. It can also verify if there are signs of Internet traffic management by the operator, through applying restrictions to the contracted traffic and speed (traffic shaping).
