Wholesale markets for call termination on public telephone networks at a fixed location - market analysis and specification of price control obligation

By decision of 23 March 2018, ANACOM approved the draft decisions (DDs) regarding the wholesale markets for call termination in public telephone networks at a fixed location corresponding to (i) the definition of the relevant market, significant market power (SMP) assessment, and the imposition, maintenance, alteration or suppression of regulatory obligations, and (ii) specification of the price control obligation of these wholesale markets.

On the same date, ANACOM also decided to subject these DDs to the prior hearing of the interested parties, pursuant to Articles 121 and 122 of the Code of Administrative Procedure, as well as to the general consultation procedure provided for in Article 8 of the Electronic Communications Lawhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?categoryId=333114, in both cases setting a period of thirty working days for the interested parties to express their views, in writing and in Portuguese.

The sending of the DD on the market analysis to the Competition Authority and the communication of both DDs to consumer associations were also approved.
