Approval of the second draft regulation on the security and integrity of electronic communications networks and services

By decision of 6 July 2018, ANACOM has approved the second draft regulation on the security and integrity of electronic communications networks and services.

ANACOM has also approved the public consultation report to which the first draft regulationhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1402961 was submitted (draft regulation approved by ANACOM on 29 December 2016); in response to this first consultation, timely contributions were received from the following undertakings: APRITEL - Associação dos Operadores de Comunicações Eletrónicas (Association of Telecommunications Operators); DECO - Associação Portuguesa para a Defesa do Consumidor (Portuguese Consumer Protection Association); Technical Committee 80 - Management of Quality and Guarantee of Quality; Technical Committee 163 - Security in information systems; DELOITTE & Associados; EDP Distribuição Energia; Estado-Maior-General das Forças Armadas (General Staff of the Armed Forces); FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Foundation for Science and Technology); Gabinete Nacional de Segurança (National Security Office); Centro Nacional de Cibersegurança (National Cyber-security Centre); MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia; Grupo NOS (NOS Comunicações, NOS Açores Comunicações and NOS Madeira Comunicações; NOWO Communications and ONITELECOM Infocomunicações; Procuradoria-Geral da República (Attorney General); RENTELECOM Comunicações; Secretaria Geral do Ministério da Administração Interna (General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Administration); Serviço Regional de Proteção Civil e Bombeiros dos Açores (Azores Fire and Civil Protection Service); and Vodafone Portugal Comunicações Pessoais.

Publication of the second draft regulation in the second series of Diário da República (Official Journal) was determined, with submission to the appropriate regulatory procedure and general consultation procedure. Stakeholders are given a period of 30 days from the date of publication to comment (in writing and in Portuguese).
