A TV interview with Ilda Matos, ANACOM’s press officer, has been aired on TVI and TVI24. The interview, on the new portability rules, was shown as part of the "Economia 24" section of the "Diário da Manhã" TV programme on 11 September 2018.
Recent changes include discontinuation of the free announcement (on a mandatory basis) advising of the change of operator when calls are made to mobile numbers that have been ported. The announcement will be available only when expressly requested by the subscriber. Operators are required to advise their customers of this option, which takes effect from 13 September 2018.
From that date, subscribers will also be able to call a freephone customer information service providing information on the price of communications to ported numbers (free call from subscriber's network).
