Meeting of the PB-NAV Committee - September 2018


The 107th meeting of the ESA’s PB-NAV Committee (satellite navigation) was held last 19 September at the ESA offices at ECSAT in Harwell, United Kingdom.

Matters associated to programmes under this committee’s responsibility (NAVISP, GALILEO, EGNOS) were discussed.

Germany’s participation in NAVISP ELEMENT 1 was voted on and approved.

The following were presented to the committee:

  • The report on the current situation of activities of NAVISP (the new navigation programme implemented by the ESA owing to the transfer of the GALILEO and EGNOS systems to the European Commission);
  • The workplan of activities of NAVISP Element 1 for 2019. Portugal only participates in Element 2.

Also presented was a report on the current situation of the European GNSS Evolution Programme (EGEP), wherein Portugal presents the sixth best return coefficient in this programme (1.06%).
