2nd Conference of the Permanent Forum on Digital Competencies http://www.incode2030.gov.pt/forum-permanente-para-competencias-digitais was held on 12 December 2018, at the Lisbon Congress Centre.
The Forum is responsible for gathering and coordinating a broad range of private and public companies and institutions to ensure widespread mobilisation for the National Digital Competences Initiative e.2030, Portugal INCoDe.2030 http://www.incode2030.gov.pt/. The main objective of this initiative is the qualification and requalification of young people in Portugal, in response to the demands of job offers that are typical of modern societies, promoting a new framework of digital competences.
This initiative is based on 5 axes:
- inclusion - ensure that the whole population has equal access to digital technologies to obtain information, communicate, and interact with others;
- education - ensure the education of the younger population by stimulating and reinforcing digital literacy and digital competences at all levels of schooling and as part of lifelong learning;
- qualification - capacitate the active population by providing them with the knowledge they need to become a part of a labour market that relies heavily on digital competences;
- specialisation - promote specialisation in digital technologies and applications to improve employability and create higher added value in the economy;
- research - ensure conditions are in place for the production of new knowledge and active participation in international R&D networks and programmes.
ANACOM participated in the exhibition that took place alongside the conference. ANACOM's participation, in relation to the inclusion axis, was aimed at bringing the various platforms and accessible services available on the Internet to the attention of visitors - these platforms, such as ANACOM's Consumers' Websitehttps://www.anacom-consumidor.pt/, Com.escolhahttps://www.anacom.pt/tarifarios/ and NET.medehttps://netmede.pt/, bring information to consumers in clear and simple language.
The opportunity was also taken to inform visitors about matters related to the radio spectrum - management, planning and control - as well as to demonstrate the functionalities made available on ANACOM's website, including: radio licensing, the NTFA, and access to data on the quality of service of digital terrestrial television (DTT) compiled by ANACOM's network of probes.
