NET.mede receives 631,918 visits in 2018


In 2018, NET.mede had a total of 631,918 visits from 309,073 users, registering an increase of 87.74% in the number of visits and 50.35% in the number of users compared to 2017.

There were 866,799 page views recorded, with 87.21% of total visits originating from Portugal, and each session having an average duration of 3.08 minutes.

Over the course of 2018, approximately 696 thousand simple speed tests and 12 thousand traffic-shaping tests were performed using this tool, with an increase of 115% in the number of simple speed tests and a 12% decrease in the number of traffic-shaping tests.

NET.mede, created by ANACOM in 2013, is a tool that can be used to test parameters of Internet service quality (fixed and mobile) from a computer, smartphone or tablet, making it possible to measure an Internet connection’s download and upload speeds. It also makes it possible to check whether there is evidence of the operator employing Internet traffic management through the application of restrictions on traffic and contracted speeds (traffic shaping).
