Safer Internet Day 2019


Safer Internet Day was marked on 5 February 2019, promoted by the European Internet Safety Network (InSafe), the International Association of Internet Hotlines (INHOPE) and by Better Internet for Kids.

This initiative, whose theme for 2019 was "Together for a Better Internet" was aimed at raising awareness about safer use of the Internet by citizens, particularly children and young people.

In Portugal, the activities were led by the Centro Internet Segura (Safer Internet Centre) consortium, which includes FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (Foundation for Science and Technology), DGE - Direção Geral da Educaçã (General Education Directorate), IPDJ - Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude (Portuguese Sport and Youth Institute), Associação Portuguesa de Apoio à Vítima (Portuguese Victim Support Association) and Microsoft Portugal, which organised the seminar "Online for Human Rights", taking place in Auditório da Reitoria da Universidade, Madeira.
