Coverage of fixed high-speed networks - 3rd quarter 2018

ANACOM has released the updated list of parishes with fixed high-speed network access and coverage supported by optical fibre and by cable television distribution networks1 (updated at the end of 3rd quarter 2018).

With this information, it can be seen whether a particular parish has coverage of fixed high-speed networks; it also gives the level of coverage of this service at that location: less than or equal to 1%; between 1 and 25% (inclusive); between 25 and 50% (inclusive); and greater than 50%.

In preparing this list, use was made of the following data:

  • number of cabled dwellings, as on 30 September 2018 (data provided by operators2);
  • number of conventional dwellings, per parish (INE, 2011 Census);
  • information on parishes from Direção-Geral do Território (Directorate General of the Territory) - CAOP - Carta Administrativa Oficial de Portugal (Official Administrative Map of Portugal) 2014.
