ANACOM receives Chairman of United States regulator


The Chairman of ANACOM, João Cadete de Matos, hosted a visit on 28 February 2019 by the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Ajit Pai.

At the meeting, held at ANACOM's head office in Lisbon, various issues were discussed related to the development of electronic communications, and projects of common interest were examined with a view to the development of the future sharing and exchange of experience.

Some of the issues discussed relate to the challenges and opportunities of 5G, the priority of security and privacy of communications, lessons learned in the protection and resilience of communications networks following major forest fires and the relevance of new uses of submarine cables.
