On 28 March 2019, ANACOM approved the decision regarding the request submitted by CTT - Correios de Portugal (CTT), seeking the deduction of the records referring to non-priority mail and non-priority parcels of 23 to 27 November 2018 (inclusive), and priority mail and registered mail from the 26 to 27 November 2018 (inclusive) directly affected by disruptions to air traffic in the airports of the Autonomous Region of the Azores (ARA) caused by the storm “Diana”, in all mail to and from the ARA, with the exception of internal shipments to each island, for the purpose of calculating the quality of service indicator (QSI) values for November 2018.

ANACOM decided that CTT should send, within ten working days:

  • the QSI values covered by this decision, for the month of November 2018, for the 4th quarter of 2018 and for the whole of 2018, with and without the deductions of the records granted by ANACOM;
  • all the information regarding the QSI values for 2018, for the 4th quarter of 2018 and November 2018 already sent to ANACOM by CTT and that it is necessary to update following this decision, which includes a copy of the database calculating the QSI with and without the registers deducted in 2018.

At the same time, it was also decided to dispense CTT from a prior hearing, under the terms of the Administrative Procedure Code.
