On 18 July 2019, ANACOM approved the request from Correios de Portugal (CTT) for the removal of posted mail records for normal mail, normal postage of magazines and periodicals published more than weekly from 22 to 25 March 2019 (inclusive), first-class post, registered postage of magazines and periodicals published up to and including weekly on 25 March, which were directly affected by disruptions to air traffic caused by strong winds across the Madeira Autonomous Region (MAR), with the exception of mail posted within the MAR, in calculating quality of service indicators (QOS) for 2019.
ANACOM further determined that CTT:
- send to ANACOM, in its report for the second quarter of 2019 for the quality of service indicators covered by this decision, information for the first quarter of 2019 provided for in Article 8 (1) and (3) of the “ Quality of service parameters and performance targets associated with provision of the universal postal service (2018-2020)”, calculated with and without the removal of the records referred to in the decision hereby approved;
- the information to be sent to ANACOM, pursuant to article 8 (2) and (3), concerning the values for the year 2019, to include, where applicable, information with and without the removal of the records referred to in this decision.
It was also decided not to require CTT to attend a preliminary hearing, pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Code.
