The second meeting of project team 58 (PT58) on maritime mobile and maritime radio-navigation service of the Frequency Management working group (WG FM) was held on 24-25 of April at the offices of the Ministry of Transportation and Digital Infrastructure in Bonn, Germany, chaired by Aire Siinvert of Estonia.
WG FM PT58 mainly focuses on matters concerning maritime mobile and maritime radio-navigation service. The activity carried out by the group is reported to WG FM.
This meeting served to discuss various issues, of which the following stand out:
- start of production of the ECC report on “Implementation of Digital Voice Radio Telephony in the VHF Maritime Mobile Band”;
- analysis and publication of results from the questionnaire on “Licensing for Personal Radio Equipment” in the maritime scope within CEPT;
- development of the draft guideline on interference monitoring in the frequencies of Appendix 15 of the Radio Regulations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
