ANACOM marks its 30th anniversary with a commemorative ceremony


The ceremony commemorating ANACOM's 30th anniversary took place on the 6 November 2019 at the Portuguese Communications Foundation (FPC) in Lisbon.

At the opening of this session, the Chairman of ANACOM's Board of Directors, João Cadete de Matos, highlighted the dedication of all those who, over the past 30 years, have contributed to placing ANACOM as a benchmark at a national and international level as a regulatory body.

This event was also marked by the premiere of a timeline video marking the 30 most relevant moments in ANACOM's history, as well as the launch by CTT - Correios de Portugal (CTT) of the commemorative philatelic emission for this anniversary, dedicated to postal services and telecommunications.

The first day cancellation ceremony, led by Raúl Moreira (CTT Philately Director), was attended and signed by ANACOM's President and three former ANACOM BD Chairs, Álvaro Dâmaso (2002-2004), Pedro Duarte Neves (2004-2006) and José Amado da Silva (2006-2012), in addition to CTT Executive President, João Bento.

Also present at the session were former ANACOM BD Chairman Luís Nazaré (1998-2002), as well as previous administrators, namely António Robalo de Almeida (1989-1996), José Ferrari Careto (2006-2012) and José Perdigoto (2012-2018).

At this ceremony, the photography exhibition ''Comunicar, ligar, unir'' Link externo. (Communicate, connect, unite) was opened held at FPC until the 31 December 2019, with the winning images from the national photography contest organised by ANACOM in partnership with VISÃO. The winning images from the ''30 anos focados nas pessoas'' (30 years focused on people) photography contest, intended for ANACOM employees, are also on display.

This inauguration was attended by Rui Tavares Guedes, Executive Director of VISÃO, who presented the works on display.
