ANACOM approved, on 5 December 2019, the draft decision (DD) on the identification of undertakings required to contribute to the electronic communications compensation fund of universal service (FCSU) and the determination of the value of contributions concerning the CLSU - custos líquidos do serviço universal (net costs of the universal service) to be compensated pertaining to 2018.
This Authority determined the following, namely:
- The review of the eligible turnover amounts of some companies for the purposes of calculating the total eligible turnover for the sector, namely further to the audit or verification carried out by ANACOM.
- The total eligible turnover amount for the sector (4 158 663 358,75 euros) pertaining to 2018.
- The number of lists requested and proven to have been delivered in 2018 (4777).
- Approve the value of the contribution of each entity for the following purposes:
- compensation of the CLSU pertaining to 2018, whose provision was ensured by NOS Comunicações, under the contracts signed with the Portuguese State for the rendering of the universal service provision of connection to a public communications network at a fixed location and publicly available telephone services;
- compensation of the CLSU pertaining to 2018, whose provision was ensured by MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia (MEO), under the terms of the contract signed with the Portuguese State for the provision of the universal service provision of public pay-telephones;
- compensation of the CLSU pertaining to 2018, whose provision was ensured by MEO, under the terms of the contract signed with the Portuguese State for the provision of the universal service for the provision of a comprehensive telephone directory and of a comprehensive directory enquiry service.
- Provide a 20 working day deadline, after notification of the final decision, for payment of the identified contributions.
On the same date, it was also decided to submit this DD.
