Definition of allocation procedure for 700 MHz band and other bands

On 23 December 2019, ANACOM adopted the final decision on the designation of the 700 MHz band for terrestrial electronic communications services, as regards limitation of the number of rights of use of frequencies to be allocated in the 700 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2.1 GHz, 2.6 GHz and 3.6 GHz bands and definition of the respective allocation procedure.

Approval was also given to the report on the prior hearing and public consultation, procedures to which the corresponding draft decisionhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1493031 was submitted (draft decision approved on 22 October 2019). In response to these procedures, timely contributions were received from: AR Telecom - Acessos e Redes de Telecomunicações; Dense Air Portugal; Ericsson Telecomunicações; MEO - Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia; NOS Comunicações, NOS Açores Comunicações and NOS Madeira Comunicações; Nowo Communications and Onitelecom Infocomunicações; Nokia Portugal; Vodafone Portugal - Comunicações Pessoais. A statement was also received from ERC - Entidade Reguladora para a Comunicação Social (Media Regulatory Authority) under article 14 of Lei da Televisão (Television Law).
