ANACOM meets with municipal councillors of Terceira

ANACOM took advantage of its presence on the island of Terceira for the inauguration of the ''Selos Portugueses de Além-Mar'' (Portuguese Overseas Stamps) Exhibition, which will be open until 30 March 2020, to meet with councillors of this island, addressing topics of importance for the region, both in terms of telecommunications and the postal service. In the meeting with the Angra do Heroísmo municipal councillors, the town council was represented by its deputy mayor, José Gaspar Lima and the Praia da Vitória meeting was attended by councillors Tiago Ormonde and Raquel Borges.

The impact of 5G on the development of the Autonomous Region of the Azores, the urgency of replacing the underwater cables linking the autonomous regions to the mainland, the migration to the DTT network, diagnosis in terms of telecommunications and the postal service, as well as ITED standards, were discussed at the meetings.

Among the concerns highlighted by the councillors was the delay in deliveries of parcels and mail. The delay in the implementation of the digital platform for the reimbursement of air transport subsidies, already developed by the CTT, which overburdens the activity of post offices, affecting service times, was another of the topics addressed at the meetings.
