For the second week running, postal parcel traffic was greater than that reported in the period prior to the entry into force of the exceptional and temporary measures associated with COVID-19.
ANACOM estimates that in the week 20 to 26/04/2020, postal parcel traffic increased by 11% in comparison to said period. National parcels (+11%), and international parcels received from abroad (+16%), are now above the levels reported before the COVID-19 outbreak.
Compared to the previous week, total parcel traffic increased by 4%, primarily due to the growth in international parcels. Outbound international parcels increased by 32% and inbound international parcels rose by 25%.

Voice and data traffic falls compared to the previous week
In the week 20 to 26/04/2020, data traffic fell by 4% compared to the previous week, and voice traffic decreased by 1%.
However, voice traffic is 16% higher than that reported in the pre-COVID-19 period, with fixed voice traffic rising by 30% and mobile voice traffic increasing by 14% in this period. Mobile voice traffic is seven times higher than fixed voice traffic. In turn, data traffic rose by 57%, with fixed data traffic rising by 61% and mobile data traffic falling by 4%. Over 95% of data traffic is carried on fixed networks.
Average weekly traffic per user was at least 19 minutes fixed voice, 63 minutes mobile voice, 38 GB fixed data and 0.7 GB mobile data.
The number of accesses at a fixed location has grown, increasing by 0.5% in comparison to the pre-COVID-19 period, while the number of mobile accesses fell by between 2.3% and 0.7%, depending on the type of access.
