Subscribers of bundled services reached 4.15 million


In the first semester of 2020 (1S2020), the number of subscribers of bundled services reached 4.15 million (+175 thousand or +4.4% in relation to the same period of the previous year). This growth is associated to the quadruple/quintuple play (4/5P) offers (+122 thousand) and, to a lesser extent, the triple play (3P) offers (+75 thousand).

The 4/5P offers were the most used, having reached 2.08 million subscribers in the 1S2020 (50%), followed by the 3P offers, with 1.64 million subscribers (40%).

The percentage growth of the 4/5P offers (6.2%) slowed down in relation to the figure recorded in 2019 (12.5%).

In the 1S2020, the revenues of bundled services amounted to 863.9 million euros, having increased by 5.3% in relation to the same period of the previous year. This is the highest increase recorded since the alteration of the form of accounting for these revenues (in 2018). The revenues of these offers currently represent more than 50% of the retail revenues of electronic communications. The monthly revenue per bundled service subscriber stood at 35.04 euros, 0.7% more than in the same period of the previous year.

During the period under review, MEO was the provider with the largest share of bundled service subscribers (40.5%), followed by the NOS Group (36.9%), Vodafone (18.8%) and the NOWO/Onitelecom Group (3.7%). Compared to the same period of the previous year, Vodafone increased its share of subscribers by 0.6 p.p., MEO's share of subscribers remained unchanged, and the shares of the NOS Group (-0.4 p.p.) and NOWO/Onitelecom Group (-0,3 p.p.) declined.

The NOS Group was the provider with the largest share of bundled service revenues (41.7%), followed by MEO (40.4%), Vodafone (15.4%) and the NOWO/Onitelecom Group (2.5%). Compared to the same period of the previous year, Vodafone increased its share of revenues by 1.5 p.p., in contrast to the reduction occurred in the NOS Group, MEO and NOWO/Onitelecom Group (-0.6 p.p., -0.5 p.p. and -0.4 p.p., respectively).
