As of today, ANACOM offers the public tem.REDE?, an app that provides information on the mobile operators' coverage in Portugal, enabling any user to know where the operators have coverage to provide mobile “Voice, SMS and MMS” and mobile internet services in Portugal.
With tem.REDE?, in addition to checking the coverage of your operator, you can also consult that of other operators at the same place. Therefore, from now onwards it's easy to know which operators have coverage in the place where you live or where you have your second home, or in the place where you want to go on holiday, for example. You can also check whether you can make an uninterrupted call, send SMS or MMS or use the internet to make voice or video calls, browse the internet, do video and music streaming, and play games online.
The tem.REDE? app is the first app of this type in Portugal, and is available on ANACOM's Consumer Portal website. It's very easy to use to check the coverage of the operators MEO, NOS and Vodafone. Just choose the operator, enter the location and select the technology-service. Consult the key to interpret the result or the detailed key to obtain further information. Alternatively, you can enlarge the map.
The “Voice, SMS and MMS” service is classified in 2G and 3G coverage as:
- Very Good;
- Good;
- Acceptable;
- Limited; and Not available.
The 3G Mobile data service is classified in coverages:
- 3G Rapid Broadband;
- 3G Basic Broadband;
- Access Limited to 3G data; and
- Not available.
The 4G Mobile data service is classified in coverages:
- 4G Very Rapid Broadband;
- 4G Basic Broadband;
- Access Limited to 4G data; and
- Not available.
The tem.REDE? app is an initiative of the SIMPLEX programme that offers information about the coverage of mobile networks based on the information provided by MEO, NOS and Vodafone. At this first stage, the tem.REDE? app is optimised for desktop.
