Meeting of the project team of the Committee for ITU Policy (Com-ITU) - November 2020

A videoconference meeting of the project team of the Committee for ITU Policy (Com-ITU) was held on 10 November 2020 to discuss issues concerning the next World Telecommunications Standardisation Assembly (WTSA-20) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), now expected to be held in 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic, several hybrid format options are being analysed so that this event can be held either in 2021 or, physically attended, only in 2022. Various European common proposals for that assembly were discussed and approved so they can be sent to the Com-ITU plenary meeting in December for final approval. Those proposals concern reorganisation of the study groups of the Telecommunication Standardisation Sector (ITU-T), the standardisation of the internet of things and smart cities, the general support document for CEPT member-states at WTSA-20 (CEPT brief), privacy and data protection. Also examined were the candidacies for the chairs and vice-chairs of the ITU-T study groups and the ITU-T Advisory Group.
