The European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC) was held last 21-25 October 2020 in Ponte de Sor, as part of the 4th Portugal Air Summit, the first rocket-launching competition at European level.
ANACOM was on the jury of the challenge, held for the first time outside the United States of America. Organised by the Portuguese Space Agency (PT Space) and the Municipal Council of Ponte de Sor, EuRoC aimed to stimulate and support the university aerospace community in efforts to design, build and launch its own rockets. Six European teams took part in the competition: Space Team Aachen (Germany), Project Euler (Switzerland), DanStar (Denmark), Air Esiea (France), The Hound and STR-10 (both from Austria).
Though outside the competition, the national participation included the presentation of projects currently being developed at the High Technical Institute, the Engineering School of the University of Porto and the University of Beira Interior.
EuRoC will return to Ponte de Sor in 2021, on 12-17 October, once again co-organised by PT Space and the Municipality of Ponte de Sor.
