ECC PT SE37 - London

/ Updated on 30.08.2006
The second meeting of the Project Team Spectrum Engineering 37 (PT SE 37) was held in London on 14-15 January, with the main aim of resolving issues raised during the consultation period for the Report ECC 42 ?Spectrum Efficiency of CDMA-PAMR and Other Wideband Systems for PMR/PAMR?, namely by France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and the Netherlands.

The comments received basically focused on the relationship between cell radius in Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and the number of existing users in the cell, the definition of guard and transition bandwidth, the inconsistency in parameters used in voice situations given that CDMA1x uses VoIP (lower transmission pace due to the introduction of signalisation), and the roll-off of filters used in CDMA, which is not correct and needs more clarification from Lucent Technologies.

The group was able to reach consensus on most issues. There was also a need to reconcile some remaining reservations at the next meeting of the Spectrum Engineering Working Group (SE WG), in February.
