ANACOM and AIR Centre organise the ''Atlantic SMART Cables: Challenges and Opportunities of the CAM Ring''


The online workshop “Atlantic SMART Cables: Challenges and Opportunities of the CAM Ring”https://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1630001 will be held on 3 June 2021 (starting at 11.30 am local Azores time, 12.30 am Mainland Portugal time). The workshop is organised by ANACOM, in partnership with AIR CENTER (Atlantic International Research Center) as a side-event to the All-Atlantic 2021 Conferencehttps://www.allatlantic2021.eu/. The workshop will address the concept of SMART Cables and discuss the use of submarine telecom cables for seismic and environmental monitoring in the context of replacing the cable ring that connects Mainland Portugal, the Azores and Madeira (CAM Ring).

The event will also provide an opportunity to explore innovative ways in which industry, governments and academia can cooperate for societal impact in the Atlantic region.
