15th Congress of the Portuguese Committee of URSI ''Environmental sustainability in use of the radio spectrum''
Organizer: ANACOM - Portuguese Committee of the URSI

On 24 November 2021, the Portuguese Committee of URSI (International Union of Radio Science) held its fifteenth Congress, on the subject “Environmental sustainability in the use of radio spectrum”.

Sustainable development is a concept that combines economic and social development with preservation of the environment, providing a response to current needs without undermining the capacity of future generations to satisfy their own needs.

A comprehensive and responsible spectrum policy comprises actions on multiple fronts, including the active fight against climate change, making the efforts necessary to achieve carbon neutrality by promoting practices such as the use of sustainable technologies that effectively contribute to a reduction in the environmental footprint left by electronic communications services and networks.

The event was held using a hybrid model, so that participants can attend in person or remotely.
