Amendment of NTFA with regard to the 6725-7025 MHz frequency band

By decision of 5 August 2021, ANACOM has approved the decision to amend Portugal’s National Table of Frequency Allocations (NTFA) with regards to the 6725-7025 MHz band, providing for the availability of this band for the fixed satellite service (direction Earth-space).

Approval was likewise given to the public consultation report to which the draft decisionhttps://www.anacom.pt/render.jsp?contentId=1660961 was submitted. Timely contributions in response to the consultation on the draft decision were received from technology companies - Apple, Broadcom, Cisco Systems, Facebook, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Intel Corporation, Microsoft - submitting a joint response, and also from Ericsson Telecomunicações, Eutelsat Madeira, Huawei Technologies Portugal – Tecnologias de Informação, MEO – Serviços de Comunicações e Multimédia, Omnispace LLC, Vodafone Portugal - Comunicações Pessoais and Wi-Fi Alliance.
